Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince: In Theaters 7.15.2009

"Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" is the sixth film in the beloved franchise and is my favorite one yet. In it there are more thrills, romance, suspense and action than any of the previous films. This Potter is also by far the funniest one in the series with many of the funny scenes involving Ron and Hermione. The opening sequences were done to perfection, not just how they were written, but how they were shown visually. Director David Yates' vision is terrific in his second "Harry Potter" film. No surprise the cast was on their game once again, but to me the actor that really stood out was Sir Michael Gambon as Albus Dumbledore. In his 4th time playing the great wizard, Gambon is just simply remarkable and absolutely blew me away. Also some of the best scenes in the film came when Dumbledore and Harry were interacting. The movie does a great job of showing why and how Tom Riddle became the murderous Lord Voldemort. One thing I didn't like was that the film didn't end in a resolution unlike the rest of the films, instead it ends with a cliffhanger. "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" receives 4 1/2 wheelchairs out of 5. View Trailer Here

  1. I am surprised Hermione was only mentioned once.

  2. My least favorite HP movie so far. The love-dovey scenes took over the whole movie. Bleh. They didn't tell the actual story. They could have done with deleting some tormented lover scenes and adding a few to detail the plot. Don't read the books, they will just leave you disappointed in the movies.
Also, Hermione can't act. She is a drama queen who overreacts about everything.
