Edge of Darkness: Upcoming 1.29.2010


The film adaptation of "Edge of Darkness" the 1985 BBC series has received an official release date of January 29, 2010. The film will be written by Academy Award-winning writer of "The Departed", William Monahan and directed by the original director of the series, Martin Campbell. The movie will star Mel Gibson as a Boston homicide detective whose is investigating the murder of his activist daughter and in the process he unravels a political conspiracy. Ray Winstone will portray the CIA agent who set up the conspiracy; he is best known for his roles as Mr. French from "The Departed", the title character from 2007's "Beowulf", and as Mac from "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull". This film will be Mel Gibson's first starring role since "Signs", that was released in 2002.
