Acclaimed actor-writer-director Kenneth Branagh will direct the upcoming film adaptation of the Marvel superhero Thor. Kenneth Branagh is best known for starring in and directing "Henry V", "Dead Again", and "Hamlet". He also played Gilderoy Lockhart in "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets". The film will star Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Natalie Portman as Jane Foster. Other cast members include Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Thor's enemy and adoptive brother, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, and there are rumors that Jessica Biel will play Sif, a fellow warrior and lover of Thor's. Chris Hemsworth is practically an unknown, but he did play Captain Kirk's father in 2009's "Star Trek". The film will be written by "I Am Legend" writer Mark Protosevich and "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" writers Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz. The film is do out on May 20, 2011.
